5th Week Check-In and Student Satisfaction Inventory
- Friday, September 23rd, 2022
Dear Colleagues,
While the exhilarating and hectic semester launch seems like only yesterday, the time has come for us to check-in with our students, but particularly those enrolled in 100-level and 200-level courses. The grades and course attendance data collected during 5th-Week Check-In remains the primary predictor of student success and persistence while providing an opportunity for early intervention.
Faculty may input 5th-Week grades and attendance into Topnet until 4:00 p.m. Monday, September 26. TopNet and Infoview reports will be ready beginning on Tuesday, September 27. Faculty are asked to conduct follow-up conversations with students and utilize the tools provided on the 5th Week Check-In webpage to guide students in getting the assistance they need.
Additionally, I ask you to encourage students to complete the Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI) that was sent to them via e-mail. Not only is there an opportunity for students to win scholarships and WKU merchandise, but this important survey also captures valuable student insight used to improve the quality of student life and learning. If you have questions about the SSI, please contact Chris Jensen at christopher.jensen@wku.edu.
We ask a lot of our faculty, and I personally thank you for the time, energy, and expertise you invest daily to prepare our students for success and service as engaged and contributing citizens.
