- Tuesday, December 13th, 2022
Jacob Walterman, Mathematics and Computer Science major, has received a $4,000 FUSE grant titled “The Transmission Problem of Piezoelectric Layers” which he will conduct under supervision of Dr. Özer.
Here is more about Jacob:
Hometown: Bowling Green, KY
Major: Mathematics and Computer Science Double Major
Personal Quote: Over the past year, I have had the opportunity to conduct research with Professor Özer and the recently graduated Ahmet Kaan Aydin. It has been a pleasure; I have learned more in these past few months than I have in the past few years. More than learning a single subject, I have had a wonderful introduction into the synthesized world of applied mathematics, but, even more broadly speaking, I have been introduced firsthand to academia itself. To understate my feelings on the matter, I am a fervent supporter of the undergraduate research experience, and I firmly suggest it to anyone who has even the slightest curiosity beyond the classroom.
