January 18, 2023, (Bowling Green, KY) – Routledge has released an updated edition of Strategies for Differentiating Instruction: Best Practices for the Classroom. This fourth edition offers practical approaches that allow all students to make continuous progress and be appropriately challenged by focusing on their various levels of knowledge and readiness to learn.
The book is written by Dr. Julia Roberts, Executive Director of The Center for Gifted Studies at WKU and The Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science, and Dr. Tracy Inman, a consultant in gifted education and board member of the leading two national gifted associations as well as her state.
Designed specifically for teachers who are new to differentiated instruction, this book offers sound, practical advice for assessing students, implementing differentiation strategies and managing and assessing student learning.
“What a pleasure it is to see the fourth edition of our Differentiating book in print. Updates include new chapters, examples and research.” said Dr. Roberts.
Dr. Roberts teaches courses for the Gifted and Talented Endorsement, the Master of Arts in Education in Gifted Education and Talent Development, and the Educational Specialist degree in Gifted Education and Talent Development in the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences at WKU. Much of the insights and advice found in Strategies for Differentiating Instruction are drawn from her work with teachers new to the field of gifted education.
“A treasure trove of practical suggestions that will make differentiating easier for all teachers to meet a variety of learning differences in young people.” Praised Joseph Renzulli, University of Connecticut. “It is the most comprehensible book on this topic, and it should be on every teacher’s ‘must read’ list.”
