Business College Receives a Grant to Incorporate Virtual Reality Into Its Student Success Initiatives
- Friday, January 27th, 2023
The Gordon Ford College of Business (GFCB) has been chosen for the Immersive Soft Skills Grant from Bodyswap and Meta. GFCB will receive two Meta Quest 2 headsets and access to the Bodyswaps Library of soft skills training simulations. The virtual reality headsets and modules will enable students to experience realistic workplace scenarios and training in communication & public speaking, employability & job interview, diversity, equity, & inclusion, management & leadership, and customer experience.
"We recently added career preparation classes to our business requirements," said Dr. Evelyn Thrasher, Senior Associate Dean Gordon Ford College of Business. "We will incorporate the virtual reality training across those courses. As students complete Bodyswaps training, we will follow up with in-person assignments to assess students' progress."
In the Fall of 2022, GFCB underwent a business curriculum revision. This revision has allowed GFCB to integrate professionalism and student success into a student's whole academic experience.
