Global Learning & International Affairs invites faculty to participate in future global teaching experiences. We welcome new proposals & ideas to continue expanding global learning opportunities for ALL WKU students.
Global teaching opportunities at WKU include:
WKU Faculty-Led Programs
WKU Faculty-Led Programs are a collaboration between GLIA, faculty members, their academic units and designed for WKU students. Developing and leading a faculty-led program internationally or within the U.S. can:
- Attract students to your major
- Contribute to student persistence and graduation
- Expand global learning opportunities for faculty & students
- Contribute to faculty professional development and research
Proposals are currently open for new programs in Summer or Fall 2024. The proposal deadline is March 15, 2023. Submit a proposal here.
WKU Virtual Global Learning Experiences
We are exploring virtual global learning with an eye to providing greater accessibility and integration of global learning across campus. Virtual global learning, also referred to as virtual exchange or Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) exists as experiences that are complementary to traditional student mobility programs and is focused on connecting faculty and students in different countries for collaborative projects and discussions.
Virtual global learning can look like:
- Co-curricular activities & events
- Virtual language exchange
- Short-term virtual exchange activities embedded into existing courses
- Semester long, globally networked courses
- Virtual and/or hybrid faculty-led programs
