Gordon Ford College of Business announces Dr. Mark Ciampa as the Program Director for the Master of Cybersecurity Data Analytics Program.

With the increasing digitalization of businesses and the constant threat of cyber-attacks, Cybersecurity Data Analytics has become a critical field in the world of technology. The average salary for someone with a Cybersecurity Data Analytics degree is reported to be around $89,000 per year, so jobs in this field are attractive and projected to be in high demand into the future. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in cybersecurity is projected to grow 31% from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations. In Kentucky alone, the demand for cybersecurity analysts is expected to increase by 37% over the next decade. 

Gordon Ford College of Business offers both a Master of Science in Cybersecurity Data Analytics and graduate certificates in Cybersecurity Data Analytics and Business Data Analytics. The programs targets working professionals interested in upskilling and reskilling for this exciting new field. The college is one of the first programs of its kind in the state and region.

According to Dr. Dana Cosby, Associate Dean of Graduate Programs and Outreach, "We are confident that under Dr. Ciampa's leadership, the M.S. in Cybersecurity Data Analytics and related certificate programs will produce highly skilled professionals who are equipped to tackle the ever-evolving challenges of the cybersecurity industry." 

Mark has worked as a consultant for businesses, government agencies, and educational institutions for more than three decades. In addition to his 25+ journal articles, he is the author of over 30 technology textbooks from Cengage, including Security+ Guide to Network Security Fundamentals 7e, CompTIA CySA+ Guide to Cybersecurity Analyst 2e, CWNA Guide to Wireless LANs 3e, Guide to Wireless Communications, Security Awareness: Applying Practical Cybersecurity In Your World 6e, and Networking BASICS. He is also the author of a blog on Cybersecurity that boasts over 10,000 followers.

Dr. Ciampa holds a Ph.D. in Technology Management with a specialization in Digital Communication Systems from Indiana State University and has certifications in Security and Healthcare.
