Dr. Julia Link Roberts of Western Kentucky University will present a keynote at the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children’s Biennial World Conference. Dr. Roberts will discuss Reflections on Gifted Education and Talent Development: Then, Now, and Looking Forward.

WCGTC^® President, Dr. Denise Fleith said, “Keynote speakers provide excellent opportunities to expand our frontiers by learning and reflecting on what has been researched and experienced in gifted education and talent development worldwide. They stimulate us to think of future studies and ways to implement evidence-based practices.”

The World Conference theme is Excellence Without Borders: Gifted Education in a Changing World. For the second time, the World Conference will be held virtually August 5 – 6 and 12 – 13, 2023. More than 600 participants from 40 countries are expected to come together online to share ideas, network, and present cutting-edge research in the field of gifted studies and talent development.   

The conference program will include many concurrent sessions, panel discussions, audiovisual presentations, and keynotes focusing on both research and practice in gifted education, talent development, and creativity. Many of these sessions will be recorded for on-demand viewing, and conference attendees will have access to these materials.

Kobus Maree (South Africa) noted that the World Conference was “an outstanding experience…thank you so much for setting such an outstanding example for all of us to follow.” Nidal Jouni (Lebanon) commented that the conference was “beyond expectations for an online conference.” Julie Milner’s (USA) favorite parts of the conference was that “great minds converged to improve educational outcomes for the world’s children.”
