Gordon Ford College of Business Accreditation Renewed
- Monday, April 10th, 2023
The Gordon Ford College of Business receives an extension of its accreditation in business and accounting with AACSB International-the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
AACSB International accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide. Less than 6% of business schools worldwide meet the organization’s accreditation standards, and GFCB is one of just 194 institutions that hold both a school and accounting program accreditation.
Gordon Ford College of Business Dean, Dr. Christopher Shook said, “It is gratifying to receive the news of the AACSB’s reaffirmation of our accreditation. In the spirit of continuous improvement, GFCB Faculty and Staff have worked over the last five years to consistently enhance the education we offer to our students. The reaffirmation of our accreditation is indicative that our efforts have paid off. I was pleased to see that two things were specifically noted as commendable by the peer review team: our student advising model and the overhaul of the curriculum.”
Achieving and maintaining accreditation is a multi-year process where schools focus on developing and implementing a plan that aligns with AACSB’s accreditation standards. Schools must meet standards of excellence in strategic management and innovation; students, faculty, and staff as active participants; learning and teaching; and academic and professional engagement. Accounting programs have an additional set of standards to meet and maintain.
The Gordon Ford College of Business has been accredited by AACSB-International since 1982.
