The Kentucky Museum will host “Duncan Hines: A Food Odyssey” on Sunday, June 4, from 2pm to 4pm. This free public program features former WKU archivist and Hines expert Jonathan Jeffrey, who spent over 30 years researching and documenting local history.

Beginning at 2pm, Jeffrey will explore the life and work of Duncan Hines – a Bowling Green native who was a businessman, salesman, kitchen inspector, lover of comfortable lodgings, and connoisseur of good foods. Today, Hines is a household name, but many are unaware of his youth in Warren County and how his career as a travel and food writer influenced how Americans experience the world today. Jeffrey’s presentation explores these aspects, delving into the research behind the Museum’s Recommended by Duncan Hines exhibition.

The program is FREE and open to the public. Guests will be greeted by a BIG special guest and have time to tour the Recommended by Duncan Hines exhibition.

“Duncan Hines: A Food Odyssey” is sponsored by ServiceOne Credit Union and kicks off Duncan Hines Days, a week-long celebration of southern Kentucky’s culinary, adventure, and entertainment scenes.
