Dr. Julia Roberts and Rico Tyler invited to keynote the 16th Annual Arab Council Conference for the Gifted and Talented

Dr. Julia Link Roberts, Mahurin Professor of Gifted Education and Executive Director of The Center for Gifted Studies and The Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Sciences in Kentucky, along with Emeritus Master Teacher, Rico Tyler, presented keynote addresses at the 16th Arab Council for the Gifted and Talented Conference held in Amman, Jordan.
The event was hosted by The Arab Council for the Gifted and Talented. Dr. Roberts presented the keynote “Strategies Promoting Learning and Excellence for Advanced Learners,” while Professor Tyler presented a second keynote, “Can Intensive Professional Development Combined with Challenge Projects Increase Teacher Creativity and Peer Collaboration.”
“What an honor it was to be invited to this meeting of professionals interested in the future of their young people who are gifted and talented,” said Dr. Julia Link Roberts.
The conference, which took place May 6-7, brought together 300 participants from 8 countries to explore the theme “Giftedness, Excellence and Intelligence, Hope in Education: Future Visions.” The meeting aimed to facilitate the sharing of expertise and ideas in the field of Gifted and Talented Education and even featured the Prime Minister of Jordan as a speaker. The exchange of experiences was not only aimed at Arab countries but had an eye toward international developments in the field.
