Close to 400 fourth-graders from Warren county will participate in the 27th annual Progressive Agriculture Safety Days® program on Sept. 28th at WKU’s L.D. Brown Agricultural Exposition Center.
The field trip provides these 4th grade students a fun and interactive educational experience about a variety of safety topics. The students will rotate through different sessions covering topics such as weather, ATV, fire, sun, and animal safety.
Educational sessions will be held from 9am to 1:30 pm with a special Tractor Safety demonstration sponsored by the safety specialist from the KY Department of Agriculture at lunchtime.
The event is sponsored by the South Central Area Health Education Center in partnership with the Kentucky Partnership for Farm Family Health and Safety, Inc.
The Progressive Agriculture Safety Days®, is recognized as the largest rural safety and health education program for children in North America, provides training and resources for local communities to conduct one-day safety and health programs that are age-appropriate, hands-on, fun, and safe for children. The Kentucky Partnership was one of the original organizations involved in the Progressive Agriculture Safety Days® program.
Over 100 volunteers from many community agencies plus students and faculty from WKU will donate their time and talents to ensure the success of this community-based educational event.
