Liberty Game/Concert Early Campus Modifications
- Tuesday, October 17th, 2023
Dear Faculty and Staff,
Award-winning country singer and songwriter Jordan Davis will perform a one-hour, free, pregame concert on the Lower South Lawn prior to the Hilltoppers’ home football game vs. Liberty on Tuesday, October 24.
While we look forward to sharing this time together as a Hilltopper Family, it is important to plan ahead.
- Beginning at 2:30 p.m., we are asking offices to operate with minimal staff and encourage employees choosing to leave campus to do so quickly. This will help with parking and traffic as we transition to event operations in support of the game. Those choosing to leave will not be charged vacation time.
- Classes will continue as scheduled. If you feel that your class location may be affected by the festivities, we would be happy to move the class up the Hill for the day. Please contact Jessica Steenbergen at jessica.steenbergen@wku.edu.
- The Preston Health and Activities Center will close at 10 a.m. to accommodate concert production.
- HAF reserved parking areas will open at 2:30 p.m. for tailgating.
- Student tailgating will occur in The Valley from 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Topper Walk will begin at 4:10 p.m.
- The concert venue on Lower South Lawn opens at 4 p.m. with the concert running from 5-6 p.m. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium.
- The WKU Community is encouraged to wear black, as Hilltopper Football will sport its black uniforms for a nationally televised blackout.
Parking and Transportation will be sending out detailed parking and street information and reminders.
We hope as many of you as possible can enjoy this Tuesday evening experience with the Hilltopper Family!
Sincerely,
Robert “Bud” Fischer
