Kentucky Museum launches SpiritFunder for Music Exhibit

Launched today, the Kentucky Museum invites the public to grab backstage passes to Sonic Landscape. Begun with seed money from the Bowling Green Convention & Visitors Bureau, Sonic Landscape is a multimedia-rich exhibit showcasing our region’s diverse musical heritage from the early 1900s to today. Now, the Kentucky Museum is hoping to double that investment in order to install the exhibition and present five years of programs.
"Additional investment will empower us to make the exhibition a more robust multimedia experience," stated Tiffany Isselhardt, Exhibits Curator at the Kentucky Museum. "That includes technology for directed audio experiences, which ensure visitor comfort, as well as programs like summer concerts with regional musicians, a K-12 traveling trunk for schools to rent at no cost, and producing a podcast to share the oral histories on which the exhibition is based. We also hope to provide more opportunities for student internships, which are integral to our mission and empowering preservation of our musical heritage."
Campus and community members - both near and far - can contribute to these costs with gifts as little as $5, which grant access to the "Sonic Stagecrew" – a behind-the-scenes pass to the exhibit as it comes to life. Everyone who donates to the crowdfunding campaign will become part of “the crew” and receive monthly updates on the exhibit's progress, sneak previews of exhibit content, credits on the exhibit’s website and Thank You wall, and an invitation to the Preview Party before the exhibit opens to the public in 2025.
