GFCB Expands MBA Program with New Marketing and Dietetics Concentrations
- Wednesday, May 29th, 2024
The Gordon Ford College of Business has expanded its Master of Business Administration (MBA) concentrations and certificates with the introduction of two new options: Marketing and Sales and Dietetics Practice. The Marketing and Sales certificate focuses on essential skills and is designed to meet the demands of the current job market.
“The WKU MBA will be adding a 12-credit stackable certificate in the area of marketing, said Dr. Lukas Forbes, Department Chair of Marketing. “Students will take marketing-related courses that focus on marketing research, sales, core marketing strategies, and digital marketing.”
The Dietetics concentration, which has been part of the MBA offerings since the Fall of 2020, required minor curriculum adjustments to become part of the stackable MBA program. This certificate features courses such as Foodservice Systems Management, Community Nutrition, Seminar in Concepts and Methods of Dietetic Practice, and Advanced Organizational Behavior.
Other concentrations available within the MBA program include Business Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Management, Executive Decision Making, and Supply Chain Management.
The stackable MBA program at WKU is a flexible option designed for working professionals. It allows students to apply credits earned towards graduate certificates while pursuing their MBA. They can choose two 12-credit-hour stackable graduate certificates, one 3-credit-hour program elective, and complete a 3-credit-hour capstone class. The program is entirely online, with the option of synchronous meetings for some courses, making it convenient for those with busy schedules.
