WKU and KEA Announce Innovative Partnership to Support Educators’ Advancement
- Thursday, October 17th, 2024
WKU’s College of Education and Behavioral Sciences (CEBS) and the Kentucky Education Association (KEA) have joined forces to provide exciting new opportunities for Kentucky Educators seeking professional growth and advancement. This first-of-its-kind partnership in Kentucky offers Kentucky Educators several key benefits:
- Rank Change Opportunity through CEO Program: Kentucky Educators can pursue a rank change through WKU and KEA’s Continuing Education Option (CEO) program. The CEO allows teachers to achieve a rank change and a corresponding pay raise, while also earning credits towards a degree, certification, and/or endorsement. The program, taught collaboratively with WKU faculty, focuses on classroom-based action research and evidence-based practices that serve to enhance educators’ effectiveness. Participants can transfer up to 12 credit hours toward a graduate degree and certification program in WKU’s School of Teacher Education. KEA members pursuing this program can complete their Rank Advancement at a significant discount as a benefit of being a member of their professional organization.
- Reduced Tuition: KEA members pursuing their Doctor of Education (EdD), Master’s, or Education Specialist Degree (EdS) degree at WKU will receive reduced tuition, making advanced education more accessible.
Through this innovative partnership, CEBS and KEA are breaking new ground in educator development, creating more pathways and opportunities for educators across the state to learn, grow, and advance their education.
