Voting
- Monday, October 21st, 2024
Dear Colleagues,
Voting remains one of the most significant ways our students – and all of us – can shape the future of our community, our country and our world. As we approach a critical time in our nation’s democratic process, thank you for your efforts this semester in encouraging our students to register to vote and to participate in this fundamental civic duty. Your leadership and guidance play a key role in helping our Hilltoppers understand the importance of being informed and engaged citizens, and we appreciate your commitment to fostering this sense of responsibility. By educating them on the criticality of participating in elections, you strengthen the fabric of our democracy.
As election season intensifies, we must remember the importance of maintaining civil discourse where diverse perspectives are respected, and thoughtful, reasoned conversations can take place, even – and especially – when we disagree. And in the wake of the presidential election, it is essential that we continue to adhere to the principles of respect and empathy toward one another.
Thank you again for all you do to support our students and for creating a campus culture that encourages civic engagement and thoughtful dialogue. Together, we can ensure that WKU remains a place where every voice is heard.
Go Tops!
Best,
