WKU Assistant Vice President Wins Advisor of the Year Award

Dr. Catherine LaRoche, Assistant Vice President for Student Engagement and Executive Director for Housing & Residence Life won the Association of Intermountain Housing Officers Outstanding (AIMHO) Service Award at their Annual Conference hosted in Albuquerque, New Mexico, held November 12-14, 2024. The conference was AIMHO's 70th annual conference event. AIMHO is a regional affiliate of the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International (ACUHO-I).
The Outstanding Service Award is designed to recognize years of service, dedication and significant contributions to students in the residence halls and the residential community.
Prior to arriving at Western Kentucky University in July 2023, Dr. LaRoche served as the Assistant Dean of Students at Arizona State University. She has served in various leadership roles in AIMHO, including President, President-Elect, and Past President.
Dr. LaRoche is a strong advocate for staff, fostering environments where professionals and students can thrive. Her supportive approach, rooted in empathy and empowerment, inspires her colleagues to pursue leadership opportunities confidently.
