Frankfort, KY – The 23rd Annual Posters at the Capitol (P@C) event is scheduled for Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Kentucky State Capitol in Frankfort. This prestigious event offers students from all of Kentucky’s public universities the opportunity to present their research, creative activities, and scholarly projects in front of state legislators, faculty, and fellow students.
The primary goal of Posters at the Capitol is to help those responsible for higher education funding in Kentucky understand the vital role that undergraduate research plays in the education of students. This event provides a unique opportunity for students to engage with policymakers, gain visibility for their work, and demonstrate how research contributes to the state’s academic and economic development. Faculty members mentoring research students are encouraged to support their participation and help them connect with legislators, including legislative alumni from WKU as well as those from their hometown.
The event will kick off with special remarks in the Capitol Building Rotunda at noon. Each participating institution can showcase up to twelve posters, with a maximum of two students presenting each. The event will conclude at 3:45 p.m.
Important Dates:
- Abstract Submission Deadline: Monday, December 9, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. CST
- Notification of Acceptance or Regrets: By January 17, 2025
This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain experience in presenting their work, interact with students and faculty from other universities, and make valuable connections with Kentucky's state legislators and legislative staff.
