Utilizing IMPLAN's Industry Contribution Analysis model, Dr. Leguizamón analyzed the truck transportation industry's direct contributions- such as employment and economic output- and the indirect effects that ripple through the local economy. Key findings highlight the industry's role in generating jobs, driving economic output, contributing tax revenue, and influencing environmental factors.
"The Truck Transportation Industry is a key driver of economic activity in both Kentucky and the United States. More significantly, its role in our region's economy continues to grow, making it crucial to understand its contribution to the region's economic development, said Dr. Leguizamón. Like the Truck Transportation Industry, there are many other important economic players in South Central Kentucky—both at the industry and individual company levels—and identifying those impacts can help us set our business and economic priorities."
