The Mahurin Honors College (MHC) at Western Kentucky University is proud to announce a new partnership with the Talley Family Counseling Center in the College of Education & Behavioral Sciences. This collaboration will provide Honors students with increased access to mental health services, reinforcing MHC’s commitment to student well-being and academic success.
Through this initiative, MHC students will have the opportunity to receive counseling services from graduate-level clinicians under faculty supervision, offering a supportive and confidential environment to address challenges related to academic pressure, stress management, and personal development. Talley Counseling provides a range of mental health services, including the following areas of concern: academic issues, adjustment issues, adult-child conflicts, anxiety disorders, career counseling, couples counseling, depression, ADHD, behavior concerns, family issues, grief, relationship concerns, peer conflict, substance use & addiction, social skills, and stress management.
“We recognize that Honors students often face unique academic and personal demands,” said Naomi Rowland, Assistant Director of Academics of the MHC. “This partnership allows us to provide meaningful support tailored to their needs, ensuring they have the resources to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.”
The Talley Family Counseling Center serves as a clinical training facility for students in WKU’s counseling programs, equipping future professionals with hands-on experience while providing vital mental health services to the WKU and Bowling Green communities.
