The WKU Student Scholar Showcase will proudly present 233 graduate and undergraduate research projects, including 149 posters/exhibits and 84 oral presentations/performances this Saturday, April 5th. The conference will highlight a broad range of topics, with student participants from 36 WKU programs across all colleges, reflecting academic and creative excellence.
Since 1970, the Student Scholar Showcase has been a key research conference for students to highlight their academic achievements. In 2025, WKU will celebrate the 55th edition of this red-towel tradition, featuring a wide range of student projects across multiple presentation formats.
All student projects are mentored by WKU faculty and staff members and are listed within the Conference Program. Follow the link to explore the abstracts here.
Student presentations will take place simultaneously from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Downing Student Union. Poster presentations will be held on the second and third floors, while oral presentations and performances will take place in the following designated rooms on the third floor: 3003, 3005, 3007, 3023, 2024, and 3025. All presentations are free and open to the public.
The WKU Student Scholar Showcase Council organizes the annual conference. Dr. Jenni Redifer, Interim Associate Provost for Research, serves as Chair of the Showcase Council.
“We are excited for our student researchers and scholars to share their work at the Student Scholar Showcase. The Showcase is a celebration, and we invite all campus and local community members to attend,“ Dr. Redifer said.
Past participants have credited the Showcase with enhancing their presentation skills, building confidence, and opening doors to further research opportunities, internships, and graduate studies.
“The Showcase is not only an opportunity for students to present their work but also to connect with faculty and peers who share their academic interests,” Dr. Redifer added. “It’s inspiring to see the passion and dedication our students, with their mentors’ support, bring to their research and creative projects.”
Community members, alumni, and prospective students are encouraged to attend and experience the breadth of innovative research and creative work taking place at WKU. The event underscores the university’s commitment to academic excellence and student success.
