Alert…The Office of Head Start strongly discourages the use of federal review instruments as self-assessment tools! As a result, programs have to develop compliant self-assessment tools for use when analyzing and evaluating their program’s progress.
The Self-Assessment CATscan: Comprehensive Approach and Tool is designed to help programs with the process for building and implementing a compliant self-assessment. Programmatic self-assessment is an integral part of Head Start’s and Early Head Start’s continuous improvement process. Through this snapshot in time, programs document their progress toward meeting goals, define areas that need improvement, identify program strengths, and then, report their progress to a variety of stakeholders, including the governing body, policy council, program staff, and federal officials.
The Self-Assessment CATscan provides an interview-style guide for conducting your program’s Self-Assessment. The CATscan addresses the Head Start regulations organized by component areas. Additionally, an introduction to the self-assessment process and tips for structuring and conducting your Self-Assessment are included.
The Self-Assessment CATscan is available in both print and electronic editions.
- Print Edition - $65
- Electronic Edition on CD- $100
- Both Print and CD - $150
