WKU’s online admissions application for Fall 2014 has incorporated a merit scholarship application to streamline the process for new freshmen.
“WKU is very excited about the new admission application. It provides students a more streamlined process for applying for admission while also being considered for merit-based scholarships all in one easy to complete application,” said Dr. Brian Meredith, Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management.
The new application, which debuted last week, provides students with a one-stop admissions process. New freshmen applying for Fall 2014 must do so by Jan. 15 to be considered for scholarships.
Beginning in early October, all students who apply for admission and qualify for one of WKU’s major scholarships (Cherry Presidential, 1906 Founders, Regents, Kentucky Governor’s Scholars, Hallmark, Spirit Makes The Master or Red Towel) will be sent a preliminary award letter within two weeks of their admission to WKU (up until the Jan. 15 deadline for scholarships). An official award letter with complete details will follow in early March.
New students seeking scholarships that require essays may need to fill out additional forms, but that information will be provided to students on the confirmation webpage immediately after their admissions/scholarship application is submitted.
