WKU Political Science Graduate joins Nashville Law Firm

Political Science graduate, Catie Lane Bailey (Class of 2007), is the new Senior Policy Advisor for Miller and Martin Law Firm in Nashville, TN. Catie provides analysis and strategic advice on navigating ways to most effectively approach public policy issues. Additionally, she focuses her practice within the Government Relations group, representing clients before the Tennessee General Assembly, local government and various state and local agencies on matters such as regulatory, tax, housing and utilities issues.
Prior to joining Miller & Martin, Bailey worked as the Director of Government Affairs for the Tennessee Apartment Association, was a Legislative Liaison for the Tennessee Department of Revenue and served as a Legislative Research Analyst for the Tennessee House Education Committee. The contacts she made in these positions are strong and diverse, and her lobbying skills are well respected.
Bailey has a solid foundation and working knowledge of the political system at the local, state and federal levels. While a student at WKU, she became involved in state government when she served as a legislative intern for the Tennessee State Senate. Prior to that internship, Bailey served as a Congressional Intern in U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander's Washington, D.C. office.
Catie Lane Bailey received her J.D. from Nashville School of Law in 2012. She graduated summa cum laude from Western Kentucky University with a B.A. in Political Science and Communication Studies and a Certificate in Political Communications.
