Katie Jaggers, a WKU graduate and current intern of public relations and communications for the U.S. House of Representatives wrote to Dr. Yager about her time here as an undergrad.
"Dr. Yager,
I hope you are doing well and enjoying your classes this semester. I am genuinely missing my time on the hill and in your Political Theory, American Political Theory, and American Presidency courses.
After graduation, I moved to DC to intern for a congressman. I was exploring the Library of Congress over the weekend where I was able to browse through Thomas Jefferson's library, and I was especially interested to see his wide collection of works by political theorists we had discussed in class, from Cicero, to Locke, to Smith. It was very inspiring to see the actual books he would have been reading those ideas from. If you haven't been yet, I hope you will be able to go one day.
Anyway, enjoy your semester. Thank you for being a professor who encourages students to be thoughtful.
Best,
Katie Jaggers"
We continue to wish Katie the best of luck with her internship in Washington DC, and with all other future career choices!
