“A Conversation with the Cast and Crew of An Uncommon Grace” will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday (March 25) at the Plaza Theatre, 115 E. Main St., Glasgow.
The WKU Glasgow Campus, along with Barren County Schools, Glasgow High School and the Southern Kentucky Film Commission, is co-sponsoring the event, which will feature well-known actress Kelly McGillis, who co-stars in An Uncommon Grace. McGillis found fame in the 1980s for her starring roles in Witness and Top Gun.
Filmed last fall in rural Hart and Barren counties and televised on the Hallmark Channel, “An Uncommon Grace” tells the story of an army nurse who returns to her grandmother’s farm in Amish Country after her tour of duty. After arriving she answers a neighbor’s call for medical assistance following a mysterious shooting.
Formerly named Strangers in Amish Country, An Uncommon Grace is the first movie to bring the film industry to southern Kentucky through the works of the Southern Kentucky Film Commission. The Southern Kentucky Film Commission wants to entice directors to film in rural Kentucky and bring endeavors like this one to this area.
Moderated by Amy Bingham DeCesare, Saturday’s event brings the movie’s cast and crew together to Glasgow to discuss the film and take questions from the audience. There will be a viewing of the film immediately after the discussion. The event is free and open to the public.
Upcoming TV schedule: Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will air An Uncommon Grace at 6 p.m. CT Monday (March 27), 8 a.m. CT April 2 and 8 p.m. CT April 10.
