ENTREPRENEURIAL SUMMIT SET FOR FRIDAY

Fort Knox Education Center and Western Kentucky University, Elizabethtown and Fort Knox campuses, are partnering with the Kentucky Innovation Network and the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development to host an Entrepreneurial Summit.
The day-long conference is 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the Fort Knox Education Center. Registration and coffee begins at 8:30 a.m. at 31 Warehouse St., Building 65 in Room 202.
Featured speakers include retired Col. Darrall Henderson, an expert on how to conduct business with the government and the certifications that are required and Rebecca Wheeling, a local entrepreneur who raised more than $1.7 million in venture capital in a week’s time.
The summit is free and open to the public. The military community especially is encouraged, along with veterans and spouses. A free lunch will be provided to those attending.
As many as 15 experts will cover topics throughout the day including — agriculture business grants, business plan writing, information on patents and intellectual property, loans specific to veteran-owned businesses, raising venture capital, business model canvas, business certifications for disabled veterans and minorities and Kentucky tax incentives.
