CSI Jr. Detective Agency, Master Mathematicians and Balloons to Rockets were among the classes bringing 480 students from across the region to WKU’s campus.

The Center for Gifted Studies hosted children from over 40 school districts for Fall Super Saturdays. Students in first through eighth grades participated in one of 30 classes each Saturday from Oct. 28 to Nov. 18.

Through a minds-on, hands-on approach to learning, students investigated courses in math, art, science, language, and performance. Science ‘R Us and Bridging the Gaps offered budding scientists and engineers a chance to experiment and build. Acting and Create Your Own (Chihuly) Art let students explore their creative sides. Crazy for Coding offered an introduction to computer programming while Let’s Learn German was a primer on German language and culture.

Although varied in topic, all classes encouraged high-ability, high-interest children to explore and pursue their passions outside the regular classroom while being in a fun and supportive environment with enthusiastic, like-minded peers.
