• WKU Business Plan Competition Finalists Announced: The WKU Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation of the Gordon Ford College of Business awarded $2,500 to five student teams that participated in the annual WKU Business Plan Competition.
• Imagewest honors legacy of Bransford Family: Imagewest has launched a fundraising campaign for the construction of the Bransford Family Memorial that will honor some of the original Mammoth Cave slave guides, freemen guides and their family members.
• Dr. Whitney Peake and Grad Assistant Win Award: Vitale Professor of Entrepreneurship Dr. Whitney Peake and MBA Graduate Assistant Teran Sundy have won a Schulze Publication Award from Entrepreneur & Innovation Exchange (EIX,org), an online resource that shares the best thought leadership about the science and practice of entrepreneurship.
• The Center for Gifted Studies' Twice-Exceptional Students Seminar Today: The Center for Gifted Studies’ annual Twice-Exceptional Students Seminar is hosting Lois Baldwin, a national expert on gifted young people with one or more disabilities, today. Baldwin will present a workshop about understanding, recognizing and working with twice-exceptional learners.
• 2018 Winter Weather Communications Plan: Check out a reminder about WKU’s winter weather communications plan that provides a number of ways you can find out if classes are delayed, canceled or if a campus is closed.
• WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. • Football: WKU Announces 2018 Schedule: Non-conference trips to Wisconsin and Louisville and a challenging Conference USA slate highlight the 2018 WKU Football schedule, the league office announced Tuesday.
• Volleyball: Join Team at Annual Banquet on Feb. 10: With another remarkable season in the record books, WKU Volleyball is excited to extend an opportunity to the public to join the team at its annual banquet on Saturday, Feb. 10, at 1 p.m. CT, inside the Jack and Jackie Harbaugh Stadium Club within L.T. Smith Stadium.
• Track & Field: McIntyre Named C-USA Women's Field Athlete of the Week: WKU pole vaulter Morgan McIntyre has been named the Conference USA Women's Field Athlete of the Week following a season-best showing at the Vanderbilt Invitational, the league office announced Tuesday. McIntyre's honor is the first for the Red and White during the 2017-18 campaign and the first of her career. Over the weekend in Music City, the Ashland, Ky., native cleared 3.85 meters (12'7.5") – her best mark of the season and second-best indoor reading of her career. McIntyre's vault ranks as the fourth-best indoor mark in the Lady Topper record book and currently holds the top mark across the conference by five inches.

• Meteorologists are raising the alarm: Bevin’s budget could put Kentuckians in danger: Meteorologists are raising the alarm that Kentuckians could be in more danger when storms sweep through the commonwealth if a series of weather monitoring stations are lost under a budget proposal by Gov. Matt Bevin.
• Stansbury looking for better bench play moving forward: For the first two months of the season, Rick Stansbury looked over his shoulder and had just three options for substitutions: senior guard Tyler Miller, freshman guard Jake Ohmer and freshman wing Marek Nelson. But in the last five games the second-year WKU coach has had the added option of pointing to freshman guard Josh Anderson, and in the last four Anderson and redshirt-sophomore forward Moustapha Diagne have both been available to be in the mix. While that’s been a tremendous lift to WKU’s depth, it’s also been a test for Stansbury to figure how to best utilize his bench.

• Topper Travelers Program 2018: The WKU Alumni Association is planning a Baltic Cruise across Northern Europe June 21-July 2. The 10-night cruise across the Baltic Sea aboard Marina will begin in Copenhagen, Denmark, with stops in Berlin, Germany; Helsinki, Finland; St. Petersburg, Russia; Tallinn, Estonia; and Stockholm, Sweden.
