• WKU planning two-day celebration for 2018 Spring Commencement: WKU’s 2018 Spring Commencement will be a two-day celebration for graduates and their families with a University-wide outdoor ceremony and Big Red Bash on May 11 and six individual college ceremonies on May 12. • WKU student awarded Freeman-Asia scholarship: WKU student Keeley Rather of Owensboro is studying abroad in Japan this spring through support from the Freeman Awards for Study in Asia scholarship program.
• Kentucky Museum adds Pay As You Will Saturdays: The Kentucky Museum is offering Pay As You Will every Saturday from Feb. 3 through May 26. We want to ensure that everyone in our community can see our exhibits, so each Saturday, instead of standard admission prices, guests will make a donation of admission — at ANY amount. By eliminating cost barriers, it is our hope that more people can visit the Museum.
• Yamato, the Drummers of Japan, to perform tonight at WKU: The 2017-2018 Cultural Enhancement Series continues tonight with a performance by Yamato, the Drummers of Japan, at 7:30 at Van Meter Hall.
• 2018 Winter Weather Communications Plan: Check out a reminder about WKU’s winter weather communications plan that provides a number of ways you can find out if classes are delayed, canceled or if a campus is closed.
• WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. • Men’s basketball: Hollingsworth's Hot Second Half Leads Tops to 72-60 Win at UTEP: Freshman guard Taveion Hollingsworth's hot second-half shooting sparked a comeback for WKU on Thursday night, as the Hilltoppers rallied for a 72-60 win at UTEP. Hollingsworth knocked down a career-high five 3-pointers – all in the second half – as WKU (16-6 overall, 8-1 Conference USA) earned its fifth straight road win, including its fourth in a row in league play. Next: WKU at UTSA at 3 p.m. Saturday. The game will air on Fox College Sports/Hilltopper Sports Satellite Network.
• Volleyball: WKU Announces 2018 Camp Schedule: With another remarkable season in the record books, the WKU Volleyball staff is excited to announce that registration for the Lady Topper summer is now open. Camp sessions are scheduled for June 4-6 (Lil' Volley Topper Camp), June 11-13 (All Skills Camp & Elite Camp) and July 11-13 (High School Team Camp).

• WKU president makes the case for steady funding to lawmakers: Speaking Thursday to House lawmakers, WKU President Timothy C. Caboni made the case for “stable and predictable funding” from the state for higher education. “Over the last decade, state funding has been down in most years,” he said. “At best state support has been sporadic and unstable and certainly not a predictable budget source for us.”
• Hilltoppers on high alert as they travel to face dangerous UTSA team: The good news for WKU is the Hilltoppers escaped El Paso with a win Thursday. Maybe even better news is WKU got a 12-point victory without playing its best – and the Tops feel like it’s been quite some time since that best ball was showcased.

• Topper Travelers Program 2018: The WKU Alumni Association is planning a Baltic Cruise across Northern Europe June 21-July 2. The 10-night cruise across the Baltic Sea aboard Marina will begin in Copenhagen, Denmark, with stops in Berlin, Germany; Helsinki, Finland; St. Petersburg, Russia; Tallinn, Estonia; and Stockholm, Sweden.
