• Men’s golf: Hilltoppers Open Challenging Spring Schedule in Mobile: After the program's best qualifying competition in many years, WKU Hilltopper Golf returns to the course this week to start its spring slate at the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate. WKU will be one of 16 teams competing today and Tuesday at the par-72, 7,212-yard Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course in Mobile, Ala.
• Men’s basketball: Tops Find Offensive Rhythm in 83-76 Victory Over FIU: WKU found its offensive rhythm Saturday night, defeating FIU 83-76 at E.A. Diddle Arena. The Hilltoppers (18-7, 10-2 Conference USA) shot 56.5 percent from the field and netted 28 of 39 free throws, attacking the rim consistently in front of a crowd of 6,429. Next: WKU at North Texas at 8 p.m. Thursday.
• Women’s basketball: WKU Falls 73-58 at Rice: Ivy Brown tallied her 30th career double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds and Tashia Brown added a game-high 23 points, but WKU could not overcome a strong fourth quarter from Rice in a 73-58 setback inside Tudor Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Toppers (18-6, 9-2 C-USA) had their six-game winning streak snapped with the defeat. Next: WKU at Middle Tennessee at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
• Track & Field: WKU Closes Music City Challenge with 32 Season Top-Five Revisions: Weekend action from the Vanderbilt-hosted Music City Challenge has wrapped up as the Hilltoppers made 32 combined revisions to the season top-five lists in addition to a number of personal-best performances. Additionally, former Hilltopper All-American – and current volunteer assistant coach - Ventavius Sears ran an indoor lifetime best in the 400-meter with a 46.51, which ranks top-35 in the world. Next: The Hilltopper squads are back in action next weekend from Birmingham, Ala., with the Conference USA Indoor Championships on the schedule.
• Softball: Offensive Barrage Leads WKU Softball to Saturday Sweep: Day two of the 2018 season saw 20 combined RBI and 27 total runs as WKU needed just five innings to take down Youngstown State 17-6 and sixth innings to collect a run-rule walk off over Hampton, 10-2. The Hilltoppers have opened the season with a 3-1 record; Sunday’s game against Hampton was canceled. Next: WKU will be back in action Feb. 16-18 in Chattanooga, Tenn., with five more games on the slate.

• WKU to host feedback forums this week: Faculty and staff at WKU are moving ahead with a process to redefine the university’s long-term mission and will hear the campus community’s feedback in forums this week.
• Upcoming autism film screening gives WKU students the spotlight: WKU students with autism will step into the spotlight and share their inclusion experiences during a panel discussion later this month. The panel will take place at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 20 in the Carol Wedge Studio Theater at the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center. It’s connected to the screening of the independent film “Deej,” which tells the story of DJ Savarese as a first-year college student with autism who insists on speaking up for his peers.
• With best league record in nine years, WKU plays four of its final six on the road: WKU has six conference games remaining. It has won 10 of the first 12 of those games it has played. Great? Yes. Satisfying? No. “I feel good about it, but I wouldn’t settle for what we’re doing right now,” WKU senior guard Darius Thompson said Saturday after the Hilltoppers beat Florida International 83-76. “I think we have a lot more room to grow. And I think we still haven’t reached our maximum potential yet.” The Hilltoppers are 18-7 after Saturday’s victory, a victory that gave them 18 regular-season wins for the first time since winning 19 in 2014-15. WKU hasn’t had 20 regular-season wins since 2008-09 when it recorded 21.

• Topper Travelers Program 2018: The WKU Alumni Association is planning a Baltic Cruise across Northern Europe June 21-July 2. The 10-night cruise across the Baltic Sea aboard Marina will begin in Copenhagen, Denmark, with stops in Berlin, Germany; Helsinki, Finland; St. Petersburg, Russia; Tallinn, Estonia; and Stockholm, Sweden.
