• 21 WKU students candidates for 2018 Coming Home King: Twenty-one WKU students are vying for the 2018 Coming Home King. The king will be crowned Feb. 22 during halftime of WKU’s men’s basketball game versus Charlotte.
• Black History Month Salute: Gaines Brown: This month, we're highlighting the work of African American faculty, staff, students and alumni who make a difference each day at WKU. Today, we focus on Gaines Brown, a Distinguished Minority Fellow and MPA student from Lexington.
• Students Attend TD Ameritrade National LINC Conference: WKU students Alec Broughton and August Hemmerich were two of 56 financial planning students from 28 colleges and universities who attended TD Ameritrade Institutional’s annual conference for independent registered investment advisors (RIAs), National LINC 2018.
• Kentucky Live! presents Mary Ellen Pethel on “College Life and the Making of Modern Nashville”: The Kentucky Live! Series presents Mary Ellen Pethel on College Life and the Making of Modern Nashville at 7 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 15) at Barnes & Noble, 1680 Campbell Lane.
• WKU Department of Communication Presents the Carl L. and Mary Anne Kell Distinguished Lecture Series in Communication: WKU’s Department of Communication is introducing The Carl L. and Mary Anne Kell Distinguished Lecture Series in Communication at 6 p.m. Feb. 27 in the Guillaume Auditorium in Grise Hall.
• 2018 Winter Weather Communications Plan: Check out a reminder about WKU’s winter weather communications plan that provides a number of ways you can find out if classes are delayed, canceled or if a campus is closed.
• WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. • Men’s golf: Hilltoppers Shoot 6 Under as Team to Finish Third in Mobile: WKU Hilltopper Golf turned in one of its best rounds in several years Tuesday, finishing third in a stout 16-team field at the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate. The Hilltoppers shot a 6-under 858 total as a team across three rounds, which marked the first time they've broken par as a team since shooting 2 under at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic in April 2016. The 858 total was the team's lowest since shooting 852 in the Sam Hall Intercollegiate to open the fall of 2016.

• What's the Big Idea? Bowling Green Festival Looks to Make Student Dreams a Reality: An estimated 800 middle and high school students will be on the campus of WKU Thursday for the fifth-annual IdeaFestival Bowling Green. The theme of this year’s event is “What’s the Big Idea?”, and is focused on helping young people identify and achieve their dream ideas.
• Woods sees potential in WKU's next offensive line: WKU’s top emphasis this offseason is reviving its run game. It’s part of why Mike Sanford hired TJ Woods as the Hilltoppers’ new offensive line coach.

• Topper Travelers Program 2018: The WKU Alumni Association is planning a Baltic Cruise across Northern Europe June 21-July 2. The 10-night cruise across the Baltic Sea aboard Marina will begin in Copenhagen, Denmark, with stops in Berlin, Germany; Helsinki, Finland; St. Petersburg, Russia; Tallinn, Estonia; and Stockholm, Sweden.
