• Head for The Hill Today: Head for The Hill, an open house event for prospective students and their families, will be held today (Feb. 19). The Office of Admissions expects more than 2,000 guests on campus from about 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests will primarily be in Diddle Arena, Downing Student Union, Grise Hall and the Preston Health Activities Center. Head for The Hill parking will be in PS2. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour campus, attend information sessions, speak with faculty and staff during the information fair, and even apply to WKU and receive an admissions decision before they leave. • View from the Hill: International Year of Bosnia and Herzegovina: This year’s International Year of program at WKU focuses on Bosnia and Herzegovina, a country whose immigrants make up nearly 10 percent of Bowling Green’s population. Amy Bingham shows how the stories are coming to life in this View from the Hill.
• WKU PBS Takes A Look Inside Ogden College Hall: Check out a video from WKU PBS of the new home of Ogden College of Science & Engineering at WKU. A dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony for Ogden College Hall will begin at 2 p.m. today. More: Portion of Chestnut Street North Lot Closed Today
• Study Away Scholarships for Spring 2018: The SGA encourages WKU students to expand their learning opportunities off campus. SGA began offering this scholarship for the Winter Term 2011 and has since sponsored over 65 scholarships totaling over $7,500.  Three students received Student Government Association Study Away scholarships for Spring 2018.
• WKU Board of Regents to meet Feb. 23: The WKU Board of Regents will hold its first quarterly meeting at 9 a.m. Friday. The meeting will be in the Martin Regents Room of Jody Richards Hall.
• 2 WKU students chosen for ONE Campaign summit in Washington: Nicole Camargo and Amanda Collins, two ONE Campus Leaders at WKU, were chosen to participate in an exclusive summit in Washington, D.C., focused on fighting extreme poverty and disease. At the three-day, invite-only summit, students will come together, learn about The ONE Campaign and hear from well-known speakers, activists, and political leaders.
• Parking advisory: PS2 Reserved Today: Parking Structure 2 will be reserved this morning (Feb. 19) for Head for The Hill, a major student recruitment event.  The garage is scheduled to reopen at approximately 10 a.m. Alternate commuter parking will be available in several other lots. • 2018 Winter Weather Communications Plan: Check out a reminder about WKU’s winter weather communications plan that provides a number of ways you can find out if classes are delayed, canceled or if a campus is closed.
• WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. • Track & Field: McIntyre Repeats as Pole Vault Champion, WKU Earns Five All-Conference Honors: Morgan McIntyre highlighted day two from the 2018 Conference USA Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships for WKU as the senior repeated as the women's pole vault champion on Sunday while Julius Morris collected a pair of his own All-Conference honors. In total, the Hilltoppers turned in five All-Conference USA performances from the Birmingham CrossPlex.
• Baseball: Taylor Tosses 5.1 Scoreless, Leading Toppers to First Win: On the back of 5.1 shutout innings from newcomer Colby Taylor, WKU Baseball picked up its first win of the season over Memphis by a score of 3-1 in Game 1 of the Sunday doubleheader. In Game 2 of the afternoon, a rubber match for the weekend series, the Tigers responded with a 7-1 victory. Next: WKU (1-2) vs. Belmont at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Nick Denes Field.
• Tennis: Four Singles Wins Earns WKU Victory Over Ball State: Lady Topper Tennis came from behind to defeat Ball State on Sunday afternoon in 4-3 fashion. WKU's victory snapped the Cardinals' home winning streak having started the season 4-0 in the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. WKU opened the weekend with a win at Lipscomb. Next: WKU (3-2) will travel to Johnson City, Tenn., to play Miami (OH) on Saturday and ETSU on Sunday.
• Men’s basketball: Hilltoppers Claim 44th 20-Win Season with 85-66 Victory at Rice: WKU Hilltopper Basketball used a fast start Saturday to record the 44th 20-win season in program history with an 85-66 road victory over Rice. Next: The Hilltoppers (20-7, 12-2 Conference USA) head back to Bowling Green for their final two home games of the regular season, starting with Charlotte at 7 p.m. CT Thursday at E.A. Diddle Arena.
• Women’s basketball: Lady Toppers Capture 20th Win of Season, Down Marshall 77-50: In its annual Play4Kay Pink Game, WKU picked up its sixth consecutive 20-win season by taking down Marshall, 77-50, inside E.A. Diddle Arena on Saturday afternoon behind double-doubles from Ivy Brown and Raneem Elgedawy. Next: WKU (20-6, 11-2 C-USA) will remain inside Diddle Arena for its final home game of the 2017-18 regular season Friday against Charlotte at 7 p.m., with Tashia and Ivy Brown being honored postgame for Senior Night.
• Softball: Hilltopper Bats Stay Hot in Sweep at Chattanooga Challenge: WKU Softball filled the stat sheets on its final day at the Chattanooga Challenge with an outpouring of offense that accumulated to 30 hits, 23 runs and 22 RBI across a pair of Saturday victories. The first game of the day from Frost Stadium ended in WKU's fourth run-rule victory of the season – a 16-4 win over Tennessee State. WKU's weekend finale also resulted in a win, coming in the form of a 7-2 come-from-behind advantage over the weekend host, Chattanooga. Next: After spending the first two weekends on the road, the Hilltopper squad will play its next 11 games from the WKU Softball Complex. Coming up next, the Red and White will welcome Green Bay, Toledo and Indiana State to town for the Hilltopper Classic.

• Faith community members stress environmental stewardship at event: Representatives of Bowling Green’s Christian, Muslim and other diverse faith communities banded together Saturday at the Islamic Center of Bowling Green to discuss environmental stewardship and advocacy. The conference stretched throughout the day and featured guest speakers, small group discussions and presentations. It concluded this year’s Interfaith Workshop on Sustainability and Social Justice, a two-day event organized by WKU’s Department of Philosophy and Religion.
• Winners of four straight, Hilltoppers head home for an emotionally-charged week: WKU is coming home. And it’s about to be a very emotionally-charged week. “I get chills thinking about it right now,” WKU senior Justin Johnson said. “I’ve been working on a little bit of a letter called, ‘Dear Diddle’ that I’ll release before Saturday night. That was a little project I’ve been doing a little bit of work on. I won’t get too in-depth with it. “It’s gonna be rough, but I’m gonna be ready to play and end it on a right note.”

• Topper Travelers Program 2018: The WKU Alumni Association is planning a Baltic Cruise across Northern Europe June 21-July 2. The 10-night cruise across the Baltic Sea aboard Marina will begin in Copenhagen, Denmark, with stops in Berlin, Germany; Helsinki, Finland; St. Petersburg, Russia; Tallinn, Estonia; and Stockholm, Sweden.
