- WKU Forensics Team tops debate tournament: The WKU Forensics Team’s debate squad of nine closed out the semifinal round and captured the top four spots to win the debate the weekend of Feb. 24-25 in Normal, Illinois. WKU acted as co-host to the tournament and was therefore ineligible for the team sweepstakes awards.
- WKU's Model Arab League Recognized at Regional Conference: For the third year in a row, WKU’s Model Arab League team was recognized at the regional conference at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio. The conference consists of three days of intensive negotiation and policy making, simulating the workings of the League of Arab States, headquartered in Cairo, Egypt. Senior Noah Stevens, an Arabic and International Affairs major from Elizabethtown led the sessions of the Council on Political Affairs and was recognized as the Distinguished Chairperson of the conference.
- Kentucky Live! presents Timothy B. Smith: Timothy Smith is considered one of the nation’s leading civil war historians. His 2016 book Shiloh: Conquer or Perish published by the University of Kansas Press has been called “the new standard treatment of the Shiloh battle.” Smith will be the featured speaker in WKU Libraries Kentucky Live series on March 8 at 7 p.m. at Barnes & Noble Bookstore.
- WKU Engineering Honors Society conducts LEGO Robotics Competition: WKU Engineering students, including members of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honors Society, worked with Engineering faculty and staff to conduct the 18th annual Kentucky Bluegrass LEGO Robotics Competition on Feb. 24 at WKU’s Engineering and Biological Sciences building.
- PS1 & PS2 Used Nightly for Event Parking: WKU is hosting the 2018 KHSAA Regional Basketball Tournaments in Diddle Arena through March 6. PS1 and PS2 will be used for event parking. Students and faculty/staff with current WKU parking permits may use the structures as space allows. More: Photos from PS3 ribbon cutting.

- 2018 Winter Weather Communications Plan: Check out a reminder about WKU’s winter weather communications plan that provides a number of ways you can find out if classes are delayed, canceled or if a campus is closed.
- WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. - Baseball: WKU to Face No. 7 Kentucky: After winning 4-of-5 games in the opening homestand at Nick Denes Field, WKU Baseball travels to Lexington this afternoon to take on No. 7 Kentucky at Cliff Hagan Stadium. First pitch between the Hilltoppers and Wildcats is set for 3 p.m. CT and will be available via stream on SEC Network + More: Nelson named Conference USA Hitter of the Week.
- Women’s basketball: Brown Matches Record with Fourth C-USA Player of the Week Honor: Tashia Brown has been named the C-USA Player of the Week for the fourth time this season as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon, matching the program record for the most Player of the Week awards by an individual in a single season. Next: Brown and the Lady Toppers will close out the 2017-18 regular season on the road at Southern Miss (Thursday at 6 p.m.) and UTEP (Saturday at 2 p.m. CT). WKU can clinch the outright C-USA regular season championship and the No. 1 seed in the C-USA Tournament with wins in both of those games.
- Women’s golf: Lady Tops Stay Near Top of Standings Through Second Round at Kiawah Island: WKU Lady Topper Golf improved by two strokes Monday and maintained fourth place out of 42 teams with one round to go at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic. The final round begins this morning.

- Community art project will memorialize faces of Bosnian War: The sounds of chisels, hammers and other sculpting tools will fill the courtyard of the Kentucky Museum at WKU this week as students and community members create wall carvings to memorialize victims of the Bosnian War.
- WKU opens new parking structure: WKU cut the ribbon on Parking Structure Number 3, which boasts 700 new parking spaces on The Hill.
- Murfreesboro the place to be Thursday to watch two of the nation's best: Rick Stansbury had pushed for E.A. Diddle Arena to be sold out for every game all season long. Unfortunately for him, his Hilltoppers have run out of home games to sell out. So the second-year WKU coach clamored for the next-best thing. “Go get a ticket to come to Middle,” he said. “We’ll help sell their arena out. I’ll promote their arena tonight. Go buy you a ticket and we’ll sell their arena out.”

- Topper Travelers Program 2018: The WKU Alumni Association is planning a Baltic Cruise across Northern Europe June 21-July 2. The 10-night cruise across the Baltic Sea aboard Marina will begin in Copenhagen, Denmark, with stops in Berlin, Germany; Helsinki, Finland; St. Petersburg, Russia; Tallinn, Estonia; and Stockholm, Sweden.
