Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter changes lives for student members: Next week, nine members of WKU’s Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter will be spending their spring break volunteering in Greenwood, South Carolina. Since 2003, more than 850 WKU students have worked on Habitat projects in more than 90 locations as part of Habitat’s Collegiate Challenge program that builds houses and hope in communities.
379 students participate in 2018 Winter Super Saturdays: The Center for Gifted Studies hosted 379 children from over 40 school districts for Winter Super Saturdays. Students in first through eighth grades came to WKU’s campus to participate in one of 25 classes each Saturday from Feb. 2 to Feb. 23.
Young Horses On Loan for Equine Training Course: Meet Gizmo and Dela, who are visiting WKU’s Farm from Dark Horse Training Center in Shelbyville. Dela (bay mare) is 2 years old and Gizmo (Rocky Mountain Horse mare) is 9 months old. Dr. Jennifer Gill, Equine Assistant Professor in WKU’s Department of Agriculture, arranged to have these two young rescue horses come to the WKU farm for her Horse Training course for the Spring 2018 semester.
Spring Break 2018 Parking & Transit: Intersession services will be in effect during Spring Break Week.

Women’s basketball: Tashia Brown Named 2018 C-USA Player of the Year: Senior forward Tashia Brown has been named the 2018 C-USA Player of the Year as announced by the conference office on Wednesday morning, becoming the seventh player in program history to be named the conference player of the year.
Women’s basketball: Lady Toppers Open 2018 C-USA Championships This Afternoon: WKU will attempt to become just the second school in C-USA history to win three C-USA Tournament titles in a four-year span inside The Ford Center at The Star this week, kicking off action in the quarterfinals against UTSA today at 1:30 p.m. More: Watch live on Facebook; C-USA Conference Tournament Central
Men’s basketball: Hilltoppers Open C-USA Championship Play Tonight: WKU Hilltopper Basketball enters this week as the No. 3 seed in the Conference USA Basketball Championship in Frisco, Texas. Women’s golf: Joiner Named C-USA Co-Golfer of the Week After UNF Collegiate: After tying for the second-best 54-hole score in program history, WKU Lady Topper Golf sophomore Mary Joiner was named Conference USA Co-Women's Golfer of the Week by the league office Wednesday. Next: The Lady Toppers stay in Florida next week as they host the Spring Break Shootout in Tampa.
Softball: Offense Delivers 10-4 Midweek Victory Over SIUE: Trailing 2-0 to SIUE (8-5) heading to the bottom of the third inning, WKU Softball struck for five runs to take a lead it would not relinquish for the squad's third come-from-behind victory of the 2018 campaign. Seven different Hilltoppers registered hits in the 10-4 win as the Red and White climbed to 15-6 on the season. Next: WKU is headed south for a five-game spring break trip. The Hilltoppers will open Conference USA play with a series at Southern Miss on Saturday and Sunday.

Her reporting focuses on the issues that affect children living in Northeast Florida, including juvenile justice and mental health. Tessa graduated with bachelor’s degrees in journalism and sociology from WKU in 2013, and spent a year covering education in the dusty oil fields of West Texas before moving to the Sunshine State.
