• WKU Forensics Team wins Pi Kappa Delta National Tournament: WKU’s Forensics Team won the 51st Biennial Pi Kappa Delta National Comprehensive Tournament the weekend of March 14-17. WKU was crowned the team sweepstakes national champions in both individual events and overall, for both speech and debate, and won 10th in debate team sweepstakes. This is the first time that WKU has attempted to compete at PKD in full force, and the first time the team has won the sweepstakes championship.
  
• Transit Alerts: Bowling Green Public Works will be continuing repairs to multiple intersections on Center Street beginning today.  The intersection of 8th and Center Street will be closed.  Passengers using the Red Line getting on at the Downtown Parking Garage should board the temporary bus stop at the corner of 8th and College Street. The 11th and Center Street bus stop (GoBG Transit Center) will be also closed.  Passengers should use The Column’s bus stop.
• WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. WKU's Public Radio can be heard on WKYU-FM (88.9) in Bowling Green/Glasgow; WDCL-FM (89.7) in Somerset/Campbellsville; WKPB-FM (88.9) in Henderson/Owensboro; WKUE-FM (90.9) in Elizabethtown/Bardstown; and online at http://www.wkyufm.org/

• Men’s basketball: Hilltoppers Visit Top-Seeded USC in NIT Second Round: WKU Hilltopper Basketball will look to win multiple games in the NIT for the first time since 1948 when it travels to top-seeded USC for a second-round matchup at 10:30 CT tonight in Los Angeles. The game will be televised on ESPN2 with radio broadcast on the Hilltopper IMG Sports Network. More: Johnson, Thompson Named to NABC All-District Team
• Baseball: Morrison Shuts the Door, Closes Out 10-7 Victory: WKU Baseball used a relentless effort to claim a 10-7 win vs. Middle Tennessee on Sunday afternoon. Ray Zuberer III went 3-for-4 with three RBI and Chase Larsen went 3-for-3 with three runs scored for the Hilltoppers, who salvaged Game 3 of the Conference USA-opening series against the Blue Raiders. Next: WKU vs. Louisville at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bowling Green Ballpark.
• Softball: Blue Raiders Outlast Hilltoppers in Extra-Inning Series Finale: In an eight-inning series finale with rival Middle Tennessee, WKU Softball dropped its first series to the Blue Raiders since the 2010 season. A low-scoring affair compared to Saturday's doubleheader, MTSU used a three-run eighth inning to claim the 5-2 decision. Next: WKU (18-11 overall, 3-3 Conference USA) vs. Jacksonville State at 3 p.m. Thursday.
• Women’s basketball: WKU Falls 82-58 to Oregon State in NCAA Tournament: Marie Gulich scored 21 of her 29 points in the second half and grabbed 15 rebounds as No. 6 seed Oregon State beat No. 11 Western Kentucky 82-58 in the first round of the women's NCAA Tournament on Friday.

WKU in the News

• With renewed focus, Tops look to upend USC in NIT's second round: WKU has played just about everywhere this season: Costa Rica, the Bahamas, Wisconsin, Ohio, five other states and in five different cities in Texas. Next stop for the globetrotting Hilltoppers? The City of Angels. WKU takes the floor at 10:30 CDT tonight at Southern California in the second round of the National Invitational Tournament, another step in a long journey of a season now 4 1/2 months running.
• Tashia Brown and Ivy Brown leave without one final win, but not without a lasting legacy: It was a loss in no way indicative of what Ivy Brown and Tashia Brown had done for 40 minutes – or for four years. But by Friday afternoon the careers of two of WKU’s greatest had come to an unceremonious end. “There’s no other place I’d rather be and no other coach I’d rather be playing for the past four years,” said Ivy Brown, tears freely flowing from her eyes. “And no other best friend I’d rather have to be playing with. It’s been really fun and really enjoyable.”
