- Record Number of Gatton Academy Seniors Named National Merit Finalists: 19 seniors from The Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science in Kentucky have been recognized as finalists in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Competition, marking the most students recognized in one school year in the school’s history.
- 5 Gatton Academy Seniors Recognized as Candidates for 2018 U.S. Presidential Scholar: Five Gatton Academy seniors learned recently they are candidates for the 2018 United States Presidential Scholars. The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964, by executive order of the President, to recognize and honor some of the nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors.
- Dean Jeff Katz Named 2018 Beta Alpha Psi Outstanding Dean: Dr. Jeff Katz, Dean and Professor of Management in the Gordon Ford College of Business, was recently named the 2018 Beta Alpha Psi Outstanding Dean. The award is presented to a dean who contributes to the university’s Beta Alpha Psi chapter with time, financial support, and an aspiration to achieve chapter goals.

- 2018 Faculty Awards Reception April 10: The 2018 Faculty Awards Reception will be held at 3 p.m. April 10 at the Faculty House. WKU annually recognizes outstanding contributions by faculty members in the areas of Teaching, Research/Creativity, Public Service, Student Advisement and Part-Time Teaching.
- Applications open for CCSA summer abroad programs: CCSA (Cooperative Center for Study Abroad) is accepting applications for its summer study abroad programs. The programs include eight options to English-speaking countries around the world.
- Summer Classes at WKU Just Got More Affordable: There are many benefits to enrolling in classes during the summer. You can catch up on a missed class, concentrate on a specific course or progress toward graduation. With the Summer Pell Grant, Financial Aid and Summer Scholarship, there are even more benefits.
- WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. WKU's Public Radio can be heard on WKYU-FM (88.9) in Bowling Green/Glasgow; WDCL-FM (89.7) in Somerset/Campbellsville; WKPB-FM (88.9) in Henderson/Owensboro; WKUE-FM (90.9) in Elizabethtown/Bardstown; and online at http://www.wkyufm.org/

- Men’s basketball: Hilltoppers Face Utah Tonight in NIT Semifinals in New York City: WKU Hilltopper Basketball has advanced to the NIT semifinals for the first time since 1954 and will face Pac-12 foe Utah for a spot in the championship game at 6 tonight at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The fourth-seeded Hilltoppers knocked off three Power 5 programs (Boston College, USC, Oklahoma State) to reach the Final Four, including the last two on the road. The game will be televised on ESPN with radio broadcast on the Hilltopper IMG Sports Network.
- Women’s basketball: Brown Named Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American: Senior Tashia Brown has been named a 2017-18 Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American as announced by the organization on Monday morning, becoming only the fifth Lady Topper in school history to achieve that prestigious feat.
- Baseball: WKU Hits the Road to Richmond, Looking to Split EKU Series: With WKU Baseball coming off its first-ever Conference USA series win over Rice, the Hilltoppers travel to Richmond this afternoon to take on Eastern Kentucky. First pitch at Earle Combs Stadium will be at 3 p.m. CT.
- Softball: WKU at Indiana This Afternoon: WKU Softball will open up a five-game road stretch at 3 this afternoon as the Hilltopper squad heads to Bloomington, Ind., to take on Indiana at Andy Mohr Field. Both the Hilltoppers (19-11) and Hoosiers (10-21) will look to add to their current win streaks.
- Women’s golf: Lady Tops Move Up in Second Round at Georgia State with 17-Shot Improvement: WKU Lady Topper Golf improved by 17 strokes in Monday's second round of Georgia State's John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate, moving up to seventh with one round to go. The Lady Toppers shot a 300 team total in the second round at the par-72, 6,043-yard Eagle's Landing Country Club, giving them a two-day total of 617. Although they're in seventh place, they're just two strokes back of fourth. The final round begins this morning.

- WKU students campaign for anti-poverty funding: Two WKU students recently traveled to Washington, D.C., to advocate for anti-poverty funding.
- Andy Beshear signs proclamation for Sexual Assault Prevention Month: April marks Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention month. Attorney General Andy Beshear was at WKU for a proclamation and signing of the prevention month.
- High school students to join in international Arabic debate: Four students from The Gatton Academy at WKU will go head-to-head in an upcoming international Arabic debate championship against native and non-native speakers from around the world.
- Hilltoppers bring their own show to NYC in NIT final four: New York is a city where people go to see a show. The Hilltoppers are there this week to put on one of their own. “I don’t think no other team in this country is like us. For us to play well, we have to joke around,” WKU freshman Taveion Hollingsworth said. “I ain’t even gonna lie, when have ya’ll ever seen everybody on the team serious? I don’t think anybody has ever seen us serious. Either someone has a big smile or somebody’s dancing or somebody’s jumping around. That’s just how we win games. We have fun.” WKU (27-10) has been having a lot of fun as of late. The Tops are hoping the good times continue at 6 tonight when they face Utah (22-11) in the semifinals of the National Invitational Tournament in New York.
