- The Gatton Academy selects 99 students for Class of 2020: The Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science in Kentucky has selected 99 Kentucky sophomores for the Class of 2020.
- 130+ authors & illustrators expected at 2018 SOKY Book Fest: More than 130 authors and illustrators will attend the 20th annual Southern Kentucky Book Fest on April 20-21 at WKU’s Knicely Conference Center.
- 2018 Kentucky National Geographic State Bee April 6: One hundred fourth- through eighth-graders from across Kentucky will compete Friday (April 6) in the 2018 National Geographic State Bee at WKU’s Knicely Conference Center.
- Parking and Traffic Changes This Weekend: WKU is hosting the SCGC Color Guard Percussion Winds Championship this weekend at Diddle Arena. This will bring a large volume of buses, trucks, and tractor trailers to campus. In support of this event, several parking, traffic and transit changes are in effect.
- Far Away Places presents Soleiman Kiasatpour on “Morocco At the Crossroads of Europe, Africa and the Middle East”: Soleiman Kiasatpour, an Associate Professor of International & Comparative Politics in the Department of Political Science, will present Morocco At the Crossroads of Europe, Africa and the Middle East at 7 p.m. April 12 at Barnes & Noble as part of the Far Away Places series. - WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. WKU's Public Radio can be heard on WKYU-FM (88.9) in Bowling Green/Glasgow; WDCL-FM (89.7) in Somerset/Campbellsville; WKPB-FM (88.9) in Henderson/Owensboro; WKUE-FM (90.9) in Elizabethtown/Bardstown; and online at http://www.wkyufm.org/

- Women’s basketball: Greg Collins Introduced as New Lady Topper Head Coach: Greg Collins, the 11th head coach in Lady Topper Basketball history, was introduced to the public by WKU Director of Athletics Todd Stewart on Wednesday afternoon inside the Paul Just Media Center in E.A. Diddle Arena.
- Softball: Hilltoppers Fall at Murray State, 10-6: WKU Softball dropped its midweek tilt at Murray State 10-6 on Wednesday. Three Hilltoppers produced multi-hit games including Maddie Bowlds, Paige Carter and Brittany Vaughn. The Hilltoppers moved to 21-13 with the non-conference loss. Next: WKU host UTEP for a three-game series Saturday and Sunday.
- Track & Field: All Hilltopper Relays Events Moved to Friday: Due to inclement weather in the forecast for Saturday, WKU Track & Field's Hilltopper Relays will now be a one-day only meet, commencing at 9 a.m. CT on Friday, April 6. Track events will begin at noon and follow a rolling schedule. WKU's Senior Day recognition will take place between the 100-meter and 800-meter races – occurring at approximately 1:30 p.m. The 7th annual Fastest Kid in Bowling Green races have been cancelled.
- Women’s golf: Joiner's Hot Streak Continues with Third C-USA Weekly Honor: The latest victory in WKU golfer Mary Joiner's recent hot streak produced her third Conference USA Women's Golfer of the Week award of the season Wednesday. Joiner has won the C-USA weekly award in three of the last five weeks. No other women's golfer in the league has won multiple awards this spring.
- Men’s basketball: Hilltopper Freshmen, Led by Hollingsworth, Add Wealth of Experience in 2017-18: Only 11 freshmen in the country played in at least 38 games during the 2017-18. Two of them were Hilltoppers -- guard Taveion Hollingsworth and forward Marek Nelson. WKU Hilltopper Basketball's run to the Conference USA Championship final and the NIT semifinals afforded fans more opportunities to watch a special team perform, but it also provided the program's newcomers invaluable experience.

- Kentucky lawmakers show support for legalization of hemp farming: Several Kentucky lawmakers including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and the state's Agriculture Commissioner are showing support for the legalization of hemp. WKU's agriculture department is one of the 57 locations where the state allows for industrial hemp growth in its research pilot program. Paul Woosley and Todd Willian, professors who oversee the hemp research program at WKU, say WKU’s program allows for information that could contribute to future legalization.
- Speedy Sloan becoming more well-rounded receiver: There’s no doubting Jacquez Sloan’s ability as a deep threat. Coach Mike Sanford brought Sloan to WKU knowing he possesses special speed. The receiver broke onto the scene last fall as a freshman with three catches of at least 30 yards. More: Eckels at the forefront of WKU's spring QB competition
- Lady Toppers' Brown training for potential pro career: As soon as WKU’s season ended, Tashia Brown switched gears to a professional mindset. Brown starred four years for the Lady Topper basketball team, capping it with a senior season that pushed her dreams of playing basketball professionally within reach.
