- Pulaski & Fulton partners support sites for Kentucky Mesonet at WKU: After reaching agreements with community partners, the Kentucky Climate Center will install and operate a Kentucky Mesonet station in Pulaski County and make upgrades to the Mesonet station in Fulton County.
- Musician & author J.D. Wilkes to speak in Kentucky Live Series: J.D. Wilkes, Grammy-nominated front man and founder of the Legendary Shack Shakers, will be reading from and discussing his book The Vine That Ate the South at 7 p.m. April 19 at Barnes & Noble Booksellers as part of WKU Libraries’ Kentucky Live Series.
- “You’re not college material.” 23 years later, the two-time WKU graduate has spent his career mentoring students: As the eighth of nine children, Delvagus Jackson didn’t hear much about college during his growing-up years. In fact, the Morganfield native was the first in his family to graduate from college, even after being told numerous times that college wasn’t for him.
- There’s no place like home—or chocolate!—for Dustin Cornett: For WKU alumnus Dustin Cornett of Beattyville, entrepreneurship is a recipe of travels, family and lots of chocolate. Cornett and his wife, Mai, opened the Chocolat Inn and Café in Beattyville in September 2017—a process that was a sweet concoction of trial and error.
- Parking and Traffic Changes This Weekend: WKU is hosting the SCGC Color Guard Percussion Winds Championship this weekend at Diddle Arena. This will bring a large volume of buses, trucks, and tractor trailers to campus. In support of this event, several parking, traffic and transit changes are in effect.

- Baseball: WKU in Hattiesburg for Series at No. 13 Southern Miss: After a five-day break in the schedule, WKU Baseball resumes play today to open a weekend series against the first-place team in Conference USA: No. 13 Southern Miss.
- Track & Field: WKU to Host Hilltopper Relays, Senior Day: Hilltopper and Lady Topper Track & Field are set to host the annual WKU Hilltopper Relays today from the Charles M. Ruter Track & Field Complex. In total, 19 teams will be represented at the Relays. Action will begin at 9 a.m. CT with field events and a rolling schedule of running events will start at noon. The Senior Day festivities are estimated to begin around 2:45 p.m. with the remainder of the running events to follow.
- Softball: Tops Welcome UTEP to The Hill for Weekend Series: With just 19 regular season games remaining, WKU Softball is set to begin a four-game homestand as UTEP visits town to kick things off with a three-game series. First pitch of Saturday's doubleheader between the Hilltoppers (21-13) and Miners (13-24) is slated for 1 p.m. CT, from the WKU Softball Complex. Sunday's finale is slated for noon.
- Men’s basketball: Splitting Time Between Leagues, Evans Gives WKU Two NBA Tops: Former WKU Hilltopper Basketball star Jeremy Evans has been a busy man on the NBA scene. Currently splitting time between a 10-day contract with the Atlanta Hawks and the G League playoffs with the Erie BayHawks, the former Hilltopper has made his presence known.

WKU in the News
- Susan Sweeney Crum, Signing Off: In a couple of weeks, Susan Sweeney Crum will retire. The well-known local radio and TV newsperson – an afternoon fixture on hundreds of thousands of home and car radios, laptops and cell phones – will say her familiar signature, “I’m Susan Sweeney Crum, 89.3, WFPL News,” for the last time on April 16. “I went to Western Kentucky University as a theater major,” she said, “but switched after a semester to broadcast journalism. I realized I didn’t have that kind of dedication to travel the country looking for acting jobs.”
- Loyalty helps Collins land Lady Topper coaching job: He was nowhere to be found. WKU had just beaten Middle Tennessee at E.A. Diddle Arena two years ago, and athletic director Todd Stewart sought to congratulate every member of the Lady Topper basketball team. Except he couldn’t find Greg Collins, the team’s longtime assistant and associate head coach. Stewart ventured back to the women’s basketball offices where he found Collins – not 15 minutes after the game’s conclusion – breaking down film of the next opponent. More: Collins tasked with keeping Lady Tops winning
