• Discovery’s Daily Planet features WKU project: Discovery's Daily Planet spotlighted a research project by Gatton Academy senior Olivia Bickett and WKU Biology Professor Steve Huskey to quantify the pressure produced by a stone crab’s crusher claw.
• 3 WKU students awarded Phi Kappa Phi study abroad grants: Three WKU students have been awarded study abroad grants worth $1,000 each from The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. They are among a select group of 50 students nationwide to receive the award.
• Big Red Poll Results: The WKU Social Science Research Center released the results of its latest Big Red Poll on politics in Kentucky.
• WKU Traffic Advisory: LifeSkills Run for Autism Road Closings: The LifeSkills Run for Autism will affect access to campus beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday (April 21).  The route will travel up Kentucky Street, following University Boulevard, Normal Street, Regents Avenue, and down Chestnut Street. • WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. WKU's Public Radio can be heard on WKYU-FM (88.9) in Bowling Green/Glasgow; WDCL-FM (89.7) in Somerset/Campbellsville; WKPB-FM (88.9) in Henderson/Owensboro; WKUE-FM (90.9) in Elizabethtown/Bardstown; and online at http://www.wkyufm.org/

• Football: Hilltoppers Set for Saturday's Red vs. White Spring Game: Spring football with spring weather – we hope – comes to a close on Saturday as WKU hosts its annual Red vs. White Spring Game at 2 p.m. inside Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium.
• Tennis: Lady Toppers Kick Off C-USA Championship with Sweep of Lady Techsters: No. 7 WKU began with a bang at the 2018 C-USA Women's Tennis Championship, sweeping No. 10 Louisiana Tech 4-0 in the opening round of the tournament in Norfolk, Va. The Lady Toppers will face No. 2 Rice at 9 this morning.
• Baseball: Weekend Trip to Birmingham Up Next for Toppers: WKU Baseball will take on UAB this weekend for a series at Regions Field, the home of the Birmingham Barons. All three games between the Hilltoppers and Blazers will be streamed on CUSA.tv.
• Track & Field: WKU to Divide and Conquer in California and Georgia: WKU Track and Field will divide up to compete in both the Mt. SAC Relays in Torrance, Calif., and the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, Ga. Between the two meets, WKU will send 20 student-athletes to compete this weekend.
• Men’s basketball: Johnson Named to 2018 NABC Give Back Team: WKU senior Justin Johnson has been named to the 2018 NABC Give Back Team, as announced by the National Association of Basketball Coaches on Thursday. The association recognizes 10 men's college basketball players for their outstanding community service efforts.

• WKU bus now runs on biodiesel converted from cooking oil: Students waiting for WKU’s Topper Transit bus No. 13 may find themselves craving french fries, thanks to the aroma from the vehicle’s exhaust. More: WKU celebrates Earth Day
• SOKY Book Fest marks 20th year: Though the Southern Kentucky Book Fest’s scheduled headlining writer, the author of “A Series of Unfortunate Events,” won’t be able to attend the annual festival, it will still offer a vast array of writers for the public to meet.
• WKU Nonprofit Student Association Hosts Awards Luncheon: WKU’s Nonprofit Student Association held its 11th annual Nonprofit Awards Luncheon on Thursday.
• A coach's comeback: Travis Hudson two weeks after heart attack: Two weeks after a life-threatening scare, WKU volleyball coach Travis Hudson opened up about his story and recent comeback.
