Terry Ballman named WKU's next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

Fellow Faculty and Staff:

I’m pleased to announce that Professor Terry Ballman, Dean of the College of Arts and Letters at California State University, San Bernardino, has accepted our offer to become WKU’s next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.  She will begin her duties on August 1.

Dr. Ballman’s wide range of experience as an administrator and professor have prepared her for this role and will serve WKU well.   I appreciate her enthusiasm and support for our student–centered, applied research mission, and I have great confidence in her leadership as we work to implement a new strategic plan. 

Thank you to those who attended the campus forums to meet each of the Provost candidates and for the input and feedback you provided.  I’m excited that Professor Ballman will be joining our Hilltopper family, and I hope you will give her a warm welcome.
