• WKU launching Molecular Biotechnology major this fall: A new Molecular Biotechnology major is the next step in the evolution of the genetics program in WKU’s Department of Biology.
• Follow the WKU storm chasers: WKU students are participating in the ninth annual storm chase course during the May term. For updates, follow the group’s blog posts or @wkustormchase on Twitter.
• Follow the Bike4Alz riders: WKU students are making the sixth Bike4Alz cross country ride to raise money for Alzheimer’s research. For updates on social media, follow Bike4Alz on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
• WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. • Volleyball: Five NCAA Tournament Teams Visit The Hill in 2018 as WKU Announces Schedule: Nine NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago highlight the 2018 WKU Volleyball schedule that features 15 matches inside the confines of Diddle Arena, head coach Travis Hudson and his staff announced Thursday. Hilltopper nation won't have to wait long to see rematches from the NCAA Tournament First and Second Rounds as Kentucky visits The Hill for a preseason exhibition on Aug. 16 and Notre Dame comes to town on Sept. 7.
• Baseball: Grady Goes 3 Scoreless in Series-Opening Loss: A nine-run bottom of the second flipped the momentum on Thursday night, as WKU Baseball lost to Florida Atlantic by a score of 15-2 in the series opener. The series continues today and Saturday.
• Softball: Jordan Thomas Tabbed NFCA All-Region Following Impressive Rookie Campaign: After a standout rookie season on The Hill, WKU Softball's Jordan Thomas continues to make program history, becoming the Hilltoppers' first freshman to ever earn National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region honors. The Lebanon, Ky., native landed on the Mideast Region's third team to become WKU's ninth All-Region selection and first since the 2016 campaign.
• Women’s basketball: Collins Completes Coaching Staff with Addition of Wyatt as Assistant Coach: Lady Topper Basketball Head Coach Greg Collins announced the addition of Jocelyn Wyatt as an assistant coach on Thursday morning, completing his inaugural coaching staff after adding Jhasmin Bowen and Tiffany Porter-Talbert last month.

• Jerry Baker named South Central Kentuckian of the Year: Since 2012, the Community Foundation of South Central Kentucky has presented the South Central Kentuckian of the Year award to a deserving philanthropist in our area. Thursday that award was given to the late Jerry Baker.
• WKU grad's film to premiere at Nashville Film Festival: The Nashville Film Festival wraps up Saturday, a culmination of a 10-day event that has showcased filmmakers throughout the world. One of the final films to premiere will feature some distinct connections to WKU with 2001 graduate Faith McQuinn’s short “Ashes” making its premiere at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
