• Gatton Students Ready to Tackle a Summer of Research, Internships and Study Abroad Opportunities: Students from The Carol Martin Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science in Kentucky are beginning summer learning at WKU, around the Commonwealth, and around the globe. From research internships to study abroad to robust community service projects, students are gearing up for busy weeks ahead.

• Football: Countdown to Kickoff – 100 Days of Hilltopper History: WKU Football will kick off its 100th season on August 31, and each day this summer, WKU Athletics is treating fans to unique and interesting history of Hilltopper Football, from never-before-seen photos to game tickets and programs and everything in between.

WKU in the News

• WKU alum on the brink of Triple Crown glory as co-owner of Justify: He's won the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes, and now, Justify is continuing to train ahead of his quest to claim the final jewel of horse-racing's Triple Crown at the Belmont Stakes. Justify is a horse on the course of history, but he actually has a co-owner whose roots can be traced back to WKU. In August 2017, WKU alumna Mary Nixon and her husband Tom got involved with Starlight Racing, one of the four groups who invested in purchasing Justify for $500,000, a low fee as far as buying horses goes. But she never dreamed that she would one day own a horse on the brink of clinching the Triple Crown.
• Richards recounts unique career: Sandwiched by a pair of standing ovations and with an emotional close, retiring state Rep. Jody Richards, D-Bowling Green, recounted his four decades in the state legislature at the Bowling Green Rotary Club meeting Wednesday at Bowling Green Country Club.
