- WKU hosting Kentucky Rural-Urban Exchange this weekend: The Kentucky Rural-Urban Exchange (RUX) will gather in Bowling Green this weekend for the first 2018 Rural-Urban Exchange Community Intensive. The Kentucky Folklife Program at WKU is serving as the group’s regional host partner and has planned cultural experiences that showcase our unique culture and assets.
- A Day at Camp Explore: Whether there are gaps in their smiles or scabs on their knees, all the campers have something in common: they are ready to have fun learning.

- Track & Field: Morris, 4x100-Meter Relay Earn Second-Team All-American Honors: WKU Track & Field wrapped up the 2017-18 season from Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., Wednesday at the NCAA Championships as the Hilltoppers collected All-American status in the 200-meter and both relays.
- Baseball: Nationals Select Rhinesmith in 18th Round of 2018 MLB Draft: The Washington Nationals selected WKU Baseball center fielder Jacob Rhinesmith in the 18th round of the 2018 MLB Draft with the 551st overall pick on Wednesday afternoon.
- Football: Countdown to Kickoff – 100 Days of Hilltopper History: WKU Football will kick off its 100th season on August 31, and each day this summer, WKU Athletics is treating fans to unique and interesting history of Hilltopper Football, from never-before-seen photos to game tickets and programs and everything in between.

- Italian court affirms merits of plagiarism suit filed by creator of WKU’s Big Red: A 15-year-long court case was given new life on Wednesday when the highest court in Italy published its decision affirming the merits of a plagiarism suit brought by the inventor of WKU’s mascot against a large Italian media company.
- The States With the Best and Worst Economies: The United States has the biggest economy in the world, with $20.4 trillion of gross domestic product (GDP), but some states are greater contributors than others. The most effective ways for state and local governments to boost their local economies are cutting red tape and investing in the workforce, according to experts. Too much regulation can hurt economic growth negatively, said Sebastian Leguizamon, assistant professor at WKU.
