- Guthrie announces WKU mental health research grant: Congressman Brett Guthrie announced Thursday that the National Institute of Mental Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is awarding a $413,400 research grant to WKU. - Football: Home Kickoff Times and TV Designations Set for 2018 Season: Tailgaters rejoice, as every game on the 2018 WKU Football home schedule will now kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT, under the lights at Houchens-Smith Stadium. Meanwhile, 11 of the Hilltoppers' 12 regular-season games have been confirmed on the national broadcast schedule, the Conference USA office announced on Thursday. More: 2018 schedule
- Baseball: Morrison Claims Academic Triple Crown with CoSIDA All-American Honors: What an encore it was for WKU Baseball's Ben Morrison, as the senior righty earned 2018 Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-American Second Team honors, it was announced Thursday.
- Football: Countdown to Kickoff – 100 Days of Hilltopper History: WKU Football will kick off its 100th season on August 31, and each day this summer, WKU Athletics is treating fans to unique and interesting history of Hilltopper Football, from never-before-seen photos to game tickets and programs and everything in between.

- Italian court rules in favor of Big Red in 15 year ongoing lawsuit: An Italian judge ruled in favor of the WKU mascot, Big Red, on Wednesday.
