• WKU Library Professor Rosemary Meszaros receives national library service award: WKU Library Public Services Professor Rosemary Meszaros received the ProQuest/GODORT/ALA “Documents of the People” Award on June 24 at an awards ceremony for The Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) in New Orleans, Louisiana during the American Library Association’s (ALA’s) annual summer conference.
• VAMPY: Physics Full of Fun Challenges: In Physics, VAMPY students will cover nearly a year’s worth of material in these next three weeks through the use of demonstrations, related videos, lectures, challenges, labs, builds, and snacks. More: Gifted Studies camp blog.
• Follow the Bike4Alz riders: WKU students are making the sixth Bike4Alz cross country ride to raise money for Alzheimer’s research. WKU Sports

• Football: All-Century Offense Unveiled: After months of voting, WKU Football began to announce its All-Century team on Wednesday in honor of the 100th season of Hilltopper Football this fall. Today’s announcements will include the 12-member defensive side of the ball, while the special teamers and one all-purpose player will be announced on Friday.
• Football: Countdown to Kickoff – 100 Days of Hilltopper History: WKU Football will kick off its 100th season on August 31, and each day this summer, WKU Athletics is treating fans to unique and interesting history of Hilltopper Football, from never-before-seen photos to game tickets and programs and everything in between.

WKU in the News

• WKU students gaining traction with Spartan 4x4 business: It’s hard to tell which is more attention-grabbing, the old Dodge farm truck transformed into an off-road monster called Leonidas or the trio of college students who did the transforming. It’s a chick magnet for sure, but that’s not what these WKU students had in mind when they bought the 2013 Dodge Ram from a Metcalfe County farmer and did an extreme makeover.
• WKU president visits Metcalfe County Schools: WKU President Timothy C. Caboni has spent his summer visiting the 27 counties that make up the WKU immediate service area. On June 20, he wrapped up a whirlwind day with a trip to the Old School Café in the Metcalfe County School District.
