• 20 students attend WKU Department of Agriculture ASSET Conference: WKU’s Department of Agriculture hosted 20 students June 10-14 for the ASSET (Agriculture Students Striving for Effective Tomorrows) Conference.
• VAMPY’s Writing and Biomechanics Classes Share a Lot in Common: At VAMPY, students and teachers share many characteristics: both groups have members who come from varied backgrounds and have diverse areas of expertise yet share a passion for learning and desire to create a community of like-minded individuals. In addition, some VAMPY students are also members of the same family, and this year that is also true for two teachers, Audrey Harper of Writing and her husband, Scott Arnett of Biomechanics. • View from the Hill: Young Male Leadership Academy: Leadership skills, communication skills and even financial planning are all covered in the Young Male Leadership Academy. The program is designed to address a shortage of minority male teachers as WKU's Amy Bingham reports in the View from the Hill.
• Follow the Bike4Alz riders: WKU students are making the sixth Bike4Alz cross country ride to raise money for Alzheimer’s research. The group is making its way across Missouri and will make its way across southern Illinois this weekend. The group has fundraising events planned July 2 in Paducah,  July 6 in Bowling Green and July 11 in Lexington. For updates on social media, follow Bike4Alz on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. WKU Sports

• Football: All-Century Defense Unveiled: WKU Football continued the announcement of its All-Century team on Thursday, adding 12 names to the defensive side of the ball with five more to go today.
• Football: Countdown to Kickoff – 100 Days of Hilltopper History: WKU Football will kick off its 100th season on August 31, and each day this summer, WKU Athletics is treating fans to unique and interesting history of Hilltopper Football, from never-before-seen photos to game tickets and programs and everything in between.

• Sanford speaks with Louisville radio about WKU's upcoming season: WKU coach Mike Sanford joined 93.9 FM in Louisville on Thursday to discuss his football program.

WKU Alumni

• An investment in a race horse triples in success for WKU alumna Mary Nixon: Whether you are an owner, an investor or even a person placing a bet at the track, you hope and dream that your race horse will win a race like the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness or the Belmont Stakes. But, to win all three—with the same horse, in the same year—many would say that’s a fantasy. For Mary Nixon and the horse she invested in, Justify, that fantasy of winning the Triple Crown is now a reality.
• 15th annual Alumni College provides Hilltoppers a weekend full of education and fun: On June 15, approximately 30 WKU graduates from the 1960s to the 1990s, returned to the Hill for the weekend to relive their college days. The Alumni College has been hosted by the WKU Alumni Association since 2003. It’s a weekend-long event, open to Hilltopper graduates of all ages and designed to reignite the Spirit.
