President Timothy C. Caboni congratulated WKU student Katie Bouchard after she was crowned Miss Kentucky 2018 on Saturday night. Bouchard, a Social Work major, will represent Kentucky in the Miss America pageant in September.

- VAMPY Astronomy Students Begin Their Discoveries: With the first week coming to a close, the Astronomy class finished up multiple projects started earlier in the week. One project is a telescope each student made by hand, and another is a constellation project that they will present to each other when everyone is finished. More: Gifted Studies’ camp blog.
- Follow the Bike4Alz riders: WKU students are making the sixth Bike4Alz cross country ride to raise money for Alzheimer’s research. The group will arrive in Bowling Green on July 5 and will participate in a fundraising event July 6 at the SOKY Marketplace in downtown Bowling Green. The group also has fundraising events planned today in Paducah, July 10 in Louisville and July 11 in Lexington. For updates on social media, follow Bike4Alz on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. - Volleyball: Cavanaugh Named 2017-18 C-USA Michael L. Slive Female Athlete of the Year: One of the most decorated student-athletes in WKU Volleyball history, Alyssa Cavanaugh has been named the 2017-18 Conference USA Michael L. Slive Female Athlete of the Year, the league office announced Friday. Across her four years on The Hill, Cavanaugh racked up a total of eight All-American accolades from three different organizations and countless record book revisions to leave a legacy that will not soon be forgotten.
- Football: Special Teamers and All-Purpose Player Complete All-Century Team: After announcing offensive and defensive representatives on Wednesday and Thursday, WKU Football completed the unveiling of the program's All-Century team on Friday with the announcement of special teamers and one all-purpose player.
- Football: Countdown to Kickoff – 100 Days of Hilltopper History: WKU Football will kick off its 100th season on August 31, and each day this summer, WKU Athletics is treating fans to unique and interesting history of Hilltopper Football, from never-before-seen photos to game tickets and programs and everything in between.

- Katie Bouchard crowned Miss Kentucky 2018: Katie Bouchard, a 22-year-old WKU student from Owensboro, was crowned Miss Kentucky 2018 Saturday night at the Singletary Center for the Arts. She will go on represent Kentucky in the Miss America pageant in Atlantic City Sept. 9.
