WKU in the News
- WKU deserves praise for Summer Scholars program, other retention efforts: By recently announcing tighter admission standards, and a new program to help underprepared students transition to meet those standards, WKU is taking some positive steps to do right by students and boost student success.
- WKU prepares to open new residence hall: New dorm rooms with private baths, a 24-hour dining facility and lots of common space to study or socialize are just a few of the features in the new Hilltopper Hall opening this month at WKU. After about 18 months of construction, the roughly $40 million residence hall along College Heights Boulevard is nearly ready for students to move in.
- Tops begin fall camp with young, motivated team: WKU’s 2018 season began in earnest Thursday with the Big Red Water Tower and tempered expectations as the backdrop on the practice field adjacent to Houchens-Smith Stadium. Coming off a 6-7 season and five losses in their final six games last year, the Hilltoppers started anew in a journey to make amends for a debilitating finish just seven months ago. They're a young team, they’re a talented team and they say they’re a hungry team – No. 7 Wisconsin, the season-opening opponent, looms in the distance waiting to find out just what type of team WKU is.
