WKU News
- WKU Forensics Team preparing for 2018-19 season: The 34 members of the WKU Forensics Team have returned to campus and are preparing for the 2018-19 season. The national champion speech and debate team welcomes 13 new members this fall, recruited from across the nation, pursuing a variety of academic programs at WKU.
- John Asher, a devoted Hilltopper alumnus, volunteer and parent, passed away Monday morning: Our hearts go out to the family and friends of John Asher (’90), a devoted Hilltopper alumnus, volunteer and parent, who passed away Monday morning.
- Faculty House Drive Closed Today: Faculty House Drive, from Van Meter Hall to Faculty House, as well as Garrett Conference Center food court, will be closed today while Facilities Management repairs a gas line. Access to reserved and disability spaces in Old Fort Lot will remain. The entrance to Faculty House Drive will be used for two-way traffic. Please use caution. A few temporary 30 minute parking spaces will be available at the entrance to Faculty House Drive for errands at Potter Hall.
- Campus Message from President Caboni: As we welcome our students back to campus and begin our work together for this year, our cycle of academic life begins again, with the renewal and optimism that comes with new beginnings. This is a perfect time to think about why we invest our lives in the work of this university and higher education. We strive as a community to create and disseminate knowledge, to improve the condition of the region we serve, and to permanently transform the lives of our students for the better. There is no more noble pursuit.

- Volleyball: WKU Set for 2018 Home-Opener Against Belmont: WKU Volleyball is set to open its 2018 home slate in E.A. Diddle Arena tonight against Belmont at 6. Both squads opened their seasons on the road over the weekend with the Lady Toppers going 1-2 in a very talented Charleston Classic field while Belmont is still seeking its first victory (0-4).
- Men’s basketball: Hilltoppers Announce Full 2018-19 Schedule: Home games against Wisconsin and Saint Mary's – as well as the opportunity to potentially face teams from all five Power 5 conferences – highlight a challenging 2018-19 non-conference schedule for WKU Hilltopper Basketball, as announced Monday by head coach Rick Stansbury. The Hilltoppers will play at E.A. Diddle Arena seven times before the start of Conference USA play, including two exhibitions and five regular-season contests on John Oldham Court.

- Football: Countdown to Kickoff – 100 Days of Hilltopper History: WKU Football will kick off its 100th season on August 31, and WKU Athletics is treating fans to unique and interesting history of Hilltopper Football. More: Clear Bag Policy
- Men’s basketball: Countdown to Tipoff - 100 Days of Hilltopper Basketball History: The 100th season of WKU Hilltopper Basketball will tip off in November. WKU Athletics is treating fans to unique moments and interesting history from Hilltopper Basketball leading up to the start of the 2018-19 season. More: Vote for All-Century Team.

- WKU president enters second year with confidence: After a year of budget cuts and staffing reductions, WKU Timothy C. Caboni is setting a brighter tone in his second year on the job.
- Budweiser Clydesdales expected to appear at 3 local events: The Clydesdales' final appearance in the area comes Sept. 8, when they will be hitched at the top of the hill at WKU and then taken down Avenue of Champions to Houchens-Smith Stadium, where people can see them before the football game against the University of Maine at 6:30 p.m.
- WKU plans to use five running backs Friday in attempt to ignite ground attack: Mike Sanford and his offensive assistants spent the entire offseason looking to resuscitate WKU’s beleaguered rushing attack. The sand in the hourglass has run out. The plan going into Week One of the 2018 season includes a new offensive line coach, a virtually new offensive line, a five-pronged running back attack, more designed runs for the quarterback and a redesigned scheme.
